Bridgeworks signed the Armed Forces Covenant aboard HMS Victory, strengthening its commitment to veterans, reservists, serving personnel and military families. The WAN acceleration specialists signed the covenant on April 14.
David Trossell, chief executive of Bridgeworks, said: “Signing the Armed Forces Covenant aboard HMS Victory, in Lord Nelson’s cabin, was a powerful reminder that behind every system and every mission are people who choose to serve.
“Our commitment is simple: we will respect that service, we will support those individuals and their families, and we will ensure that the skills they bring are recognised as a strategic advantage, not just for Bridgeworks, but for the security of the UK.”
The Armed Forces Covenant is a public pledge to ensure that those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces are treated fairly and not disadvantaged in the workplace.
Steve Duddy, a Bridgeworks executive and former officer commanding at 600 (City of London) Squadron, said: “Supporting them is both the right thing to do and strategically aligned with our business. “Bridgeworks is a values-driven, defence-aligned supplier willing to make practical adjustments for service personnel. “That builds trust, strengthens our credibility in bids and partnerships, and aligns us with the expectations placed on serious, long-term defence suppliers.”
Under the covenant, Bridgeworks has committed to offering flexible working arrangements for reservists, including leave for reservist duties. The company will formally recognise military experience during recruitment and provide tailored induction support for veterans transitioning to civilian roles. The firm believes operational military experience can translate into leadership and technical strengths across its business.
Bridgeworks also plans to deepen its collaboration with defence sector clients and partners. It aims to align its technology roadmap with operational data and resilience needs, and to become a recognised employer of choice for veterans and reservists in the data and artificial intelligence sectors. The company is encouraging other SMEs to sign the covenant, emphasising that it should represent a genuine and sustained commitment.
