SOFTWARE ENGINEER  –  UK HQ

Software Developers

This exciting opportunity will give the right candidate the chance to shape and develop new leading-edge software for an ever growing technology company. You will be using your software engineering and analysis skills to deliver all aspects of a projects life cycle, in conjunction with our existing dynamic engineers. You will be contributing straight away, joining one of our development teams and helping to meet primary goals. You will get to experience development for multiple platforms including ARM, PowerPC and x86, developing for both embedded solutions and applications.

As a software engineer your duties will include:

  • Work within a team to develop peer-reviewed code to a high standard.
  • Develop code for new projects.
  • Help to maintain our existing product portfolio.
  • With the team plan work to be carried out during a sprint period.
  • Any other activities that might be reasonably expected for you to carry out.

The Person

The ideal candidate will work well within a team and have the following skills and experiences;

Required

  • Excellent English and strong communication skills.
  • Educated to degree level (2:1 or Higher) in a relevant IT degree such as Computer Science/ Software Engineering/ Computer Engineering etc.
  • Attention to detail and a strong focus on quality.
  • Experience in programming either commercially or at university in C, C++, C# or Java.

Beneficial

  • Experience of a Linux operating system.
  • Experience of working in a team.
  • UI development experience.
  • Additional languages(JavaScript, HTML, Lua, scripting languages).
  • Git/Gerrit/CVS.

You will get to experience development for multiple platforms including ARM, PowerPC and x86, developing for both embedded solutions and applications.

As a software engineer your duties will include:

      • Work within a team to develop peer-reviewed code to a high standard.
      • Analyse and design solutions in conjunction with the lead architect.
      • Present ideas for improvements to both existing systems and new ideas.
      • Help to maintain our existing product portfolio.
      • Any other activities that might be reasonably expected for you to carry out.

The Person

The ideal candidate will work well within a team and have the following skills and experiences;

Required

      • Ability to develop using the C programming language.
      • Experience with networking (TCP/IP, Linux networking stack).
      • Linux development experience.
      • Excellent English and strong communication skills
      • Educated to degree level (2:1 or Higher).
      • Minimum 2 years relevant commercial experience.

Beneficial

      • Experience in the following protocols iSCSI/FC/SAS/SCSI/FTP/REST.
      • Cross platform development.
      • Scrum and agile methodologies.
      • UI development experience.
      • Additional languages(JavaScript, HTML, Lua, scripting languages).
