fibre channel bridge

21 August 2003

Zycko, the groundbreaking UK distributor of networking, storage and server accessories, recently signed a distribution agreement with niche data transfer manufacturer, Bridgeworks. The agreement allows Zycko to distribute Bridgeworks' cutting-edge Fibre Channel to SCSI converter as part of Zycko's end-to-end networked storage solution portflio.

Mark Crocker, Group Marketing Director at Zycko, comments:"Many companies are currently looking to make the move from SCSI to Fibre Channel storage. Bridgeworks' converter allows us to respond to that need, offering them a cost-effective option that really works."

Drawing on over twenty years of experience in data transfer solutions, Bridgeworks' new TAMAR Fibre Channel bridge is the first in a number of breakthrough products. The Tamar's low initial cost, combined with native support for disk, tape, optical and changer devices, provides a realistic and affordable strategy for the maintenance and ongoing utilisation of existing SCSI-based back-up and archive installatioins.

David Cusworth, Director of Sales at Bridgeworks, explains the decision: "We chose Zycko to be the major distributor of the Tamar bridge as a result of the company's outstanding track record and reputation. We are confident that, with the addition of Bridgeworks' Fibre Chanel bridge to its portfolio, Zycko will continue to offer a range of best of breed, tailored solutioins."

Crocker continues: "The Fibre Channel bridge not only does 'exactly what it says on the box', it is easy to manage and is available at a fraction of the price of other converters on the market. It is a welcome and worthwhile addition to our range of networked storage solutions and accessories."
